Shze-Hui Tjoa is a Singaporean writer who lives in Edinburgh, UK.

Her debut, The Story Game: A Memoir (Tin House, 2024 / Faction Press, 2025), is a genre-bending work about storytelling, sisterhood, c-PTSD, having been a child musician, and deconstructing/finding the self. It was recognised as a notable book of its release season by The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Book Riot, and Between the Covers podcast, and named one of Electric Literature’s and Paste Magazine's best nonfiction books of 2024.

Shze-Hui writes about and beyond herself - is particularly interested in literature that takes formal risks to speak authentically. She has served as editor at various publications including Guernica, Adi Magazine, Sundog Lit, and Exposition Review, where she brought writers from different backgrounds and cultures into conversation.

Her writing has received support from global arts organisations including the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (USA), the National Arts Council (Singapore), Disquiet International (Portugal), and Green Olive Arts (Morocco).
